CNC Laser Technologies and 3D Scanning
Explore CNC laser cutting and 3D scanning technologies, from digital design and precision fabrication to reverse engineering and the development of innovative urban mobility prototypes.

About this Course
About This Learning Material
Digital fabrication technologies play an increasingly important role in transforming ideas into functional prototypes and innovative solutions.
This learning material introduces participants to two complementary technologies: CNC laser cutting and 3D scanning.
Through the CNC laser cutting module, participants will explore how digital design files are transformed into precisely manufactured physical components. The material covers essential concepts such as vector design, laser cutting and engraving, material selection, dimensional accuracy and safe machine operation.
From Physical Objects to Digital Models
The second part introduces 3D scanning and reverse engineering, demonstrating how physical objects can be captured and converted into digital models for further design, analysis and prototyping.
Participants will become familiar with the basic workflow of the Creality CR-Scan Raptor/Raptor Pro and learn about object preparation, scanning quality, mesh processing and the integration of scanned geometry into CAD workflows.
Applications in Urban Mobility
The material also highlights how combining laser cutting, 3D scanning and computer-aided design can support urban mobility projects, including smart intersection models, sensor mounting components, transportation infrastructure prototypes and other practical fabrication applications.
The objective is to develop participants' understanding of digital manufacturing processes and strengthen their ability to select appropriate technologies for developing functional, safe and innovative urban mobility solutions.
